Our story begins with the Grasse family planting their Door County roots over one hundred years ago. Chef/Owner Jimmy Grasse began his culinary adventure growing up on the dairy farm his grandparents settled in Ellison Bay. There he learned to appreciate fresh, locally grown, scratch made food. As a teen, he washed dishes at Hotel du Nord, and when someone didn't show up to cook one night, he was pulled onto the line and has never left. He went on to earn a degree in Culinary Arts in Madison, and has worked at some of the finest Door County and Madison restaurants. His wife Jess waited tables at various Door County and Madison restaurants while attending UW Madison's Nursing School, and is happy to be back in the front of the house.

After searching for several years for the perfect building, we fell in love with the historic building in Sister Bay only to learn that it was the Kramer-Grasse Dairy in the 1930s! Here we are continuing the tradition of thoughtful food preparation, community-mindedness, and love for Door County. We work with over a dozen local suppliers to bring you the best food Door County has to offer. We also give back to our great community through our Terrific Tuesday volunteer recognition program, and have supported several non-profits. We take care of our environment by composting organic materials and using compostable to-gos.
